Our friends at the Deutsches Liturgisches Institut in Trier, Germany continue their pastoral outreach this Lent with an upcoming lecture series (in German!).
The lectures are free of charge, and are offered in person and virtually!
This Lent, as part of the ongoing “Liturgy Insights” series, the lectures will focus on signs of the season: from the sign of the cross and the folding of hands to the ashes, palm branches, and Easter candle, to the breaking of bread and the walk to Emmaus.
In the spirit of Romano Guardini, the lectures will explore the origin and meaning of these “sacred signs” and reveal how we can perceive them more consciously and perform them with both heart and mind. The liturgical rites and symbols of Lent and Easter, especially Holy Week, will be a particular focus.
