New Organization for Catholic Ensemble Musicians

Introducing CLEF: Catholic Liturgical Ensemble Formation, a partnership of ensemble directors, instrumentalists, singers and liturgists who believe in the importance of ensemble-led Catholic Liturgy. CLEF has a desire to facilitate full, conscious, and active participation in the Liturgy through supportive training, education, and an active network of musicians and liturgists.

CLEF’s founders believe that many ensemble singers and instrumentalists within Catholic parishes across the country seek support and assistance with their music-making. As a non-profit with tax-exempt status pending, CLEF will offer opportunities for all ensemble members, especially those in culturally diverse and/or rural communities where resources may be scarce.

CLEF further recognizes a need to continue offering a time and space specifically designed for non-professional, grassroots ensemble directors, instrumentalists, and singers. It desires to meet ensemble musicians exactly where they are, offering viable support and opportunities for growth in their ministries separate from choir-based and professional parish musicians.

CLEF invites those interested to save the dates for this year’s inaugural Summer Program, July 18–22, 2022. For more information, visit clef.life.
