There is often public disappointment when a bad opera production hits the stage. Most people are unaware in advance that the production is bad, though an inner circle will be well aware and if they are on the staff of the theater will grit their teeth and bear it. It is good to have friends among those cognoscenti so as not to lose one’s time and money.
An analogous situation holds in our church right now.
