Digital Encounter with Pope Leo XIV

By Staff, November 20, 2025

The National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) will be hosting the first ever “digital encounter” with Pope Leo XIV during the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) general session tomorrow, Friday, November 21, 2025, at 9:15am Central Time.

There are currently over 15,000 folks signed up to attend the event in person, aged between 14 and 18, engaged in various Catholic youth movements around the country. Several thousand additional people have signed up for the live event. If you would like to register, click here to be directed to the NCYC website!

As we previously reported on November 12th, recent studies show 94% of priests agree that youth ministry is a primary concern for clergy and the Church at large. As Christina Lamas, Executive Director of NFCYM, says in the event press release, the pope’s “presence is a profound reminder that young people are at the heart of the Church and that their voices matter.โ€

At the Jubilee for Youth in Rome, it’s estimated that one million young people showed up from 146 countries to participate in events held from July 28 to August 3 of this year. Pope Leo is, so far, fairly popular with younger demographics. An event like this should only serve to bolster that relationship.

As usual, we’d love to hear from you. What are the main issues facing young Catholics today? What sort of questions do you hope will be asked of Pope Leo XIV at this event? Let us know below in the comments.
