Event: Psalm Singing and the Genevan Psalter

By Editor, October 21, 2025

The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship invites you to an engaging event taking place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM EDT at the Calvin University Chapel in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Led by Dr. Karin Maag, this lecture will take attendees on a musical-historical journey through the development of metrical psalm singing โ€” a defining feature of Reformed worship. From Reformation-era Geneva to Scotland, the Netherlands, and New England, discover how early Christians learned to sing the psalms in both unison and harmony.

Whether you join in person or via livestream, audience members will be encouraged to sing and engage with the voices of the past.

This event is part of the Calvin Instituteโ€™s yearlong series, Dwelling in the Psalms.
