National Liturgy Music Conference

By: Editor, October 21 2025

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the National Liturgical Council (NLC) and the Australian Pastoral Musicians Network (APMN), the Pilgrims of Hope – Transformed through Sacrament and Song conference brought together people from diverse ministries across Australia and the Pacific between October 1-3, 2025.

Keynotes by Rita Ferrone, Fr. Ricky Manalo, CSP, and Fr. Richard Leonard, SJ explored the vital role of liturgy in the Churchโ€™s mission, the power of music across cultures, and the countercultural hope found in Christ.

The three-day program featured rich formation opportunities through breakout sessions led by experienced practitioners from Australia and Fiji. Topics ranged from OCIA, baptism, and evangelization through worship, to sacred music for funerals, liturgical art, architecture, intercultural song, synodality, and more.

Daily prayer and Mass celebrated sacred music from both Australian composers and the global Catholic tradition, inviting full, conscious, and active participation.
