The Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year offers Catholics worldwide a sacred opportunity to renew their faith, embrace eschatological hope, and embark on a communal journey. The Jubilee Year 2025, themed “Pilgrims of Hope,” will commence on December 24, 2024, with the opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica and conclude on January 6, 2026, the Feast of Epiphany, with its closing. This ritual symbolizes the pathway to forgiveness and new beginnings.
Pope Francis invites believers to undertake pilgrimages, seek Godโs mercy, and engage in acts of charity and environmental stewardship. Catholics are encouraged to participate in the sacraments as a means of drawing closer to Christ. In addition, the Jubilee calls us to confront global injustice and foster unity with the marginalized. Building on Laudato Si’, this Jubilee emphasizes an ecological conversion, urging the faithful to respect creation and commit to sustainable living. Special events and resources will support Catholics as they journey together in faith and solidarity.
