GOSPEL COMMUNION: 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

November 6, 2022 : 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

The antiphon is a meditation on the final verse of today’s 1st Reading (2 Maccabees 7:14):

“It is my choice to die at the hands of men
with the hope God gives of being raised up by him;
but for you, there will be no resurrection to life.”

Jesus echoes this at the end of the Gospel when he refers to

the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;
and he is not God of the dead, but of the living,
for to him all are alive.

The psalm verses today are superimposed on the antiphon, but chanted on a single note except for the final one. The verses come from Psalm 105.

A demo recording will be found here.
