GOSPEL COMMUNION: 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time

July 17, 2022 : 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time

The alternative antiphon from the Missal, derived from Revelation 3:20, relates to today’s 1st Reading, in which Abraham and Sarah receive a group of three unexpected visitors and provides a meal for them. We, too, must not only feed at the table of the Lord but must be ready to extend hospitality to all, for it is the Lord we are welcoming just as we welcome him into our hearts at Communion.

Verses are provided from Sirach 14 and are superimposed on the antiphon. If further verses are required, additional verses from Sirach 15 will be found at the Song for the Table, Option II, on the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A.

An extract from the recording on the CD We Will Follow You, Lord is found here.
