GOSPEL COMMUNION: 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

August 9, 2020: Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

This antiphon is used a number of times during the 3-year Lectionary cycle. This Sunday it is used in conjunction with the Gospel of Peter being called to walk to Jesus across the water (Matthew 14:22-33).

We, too, are called to believe in Jesus, and to walk toward him unafraid as we process to receive him in Holy Communion (and to take him with us into the world).

The Collegeville Composers provide a concatenation of verses from Psalms 131, 31, and 103 which can be superimposed on the hummed antiphon.
