GOSPEL COMMUNION: 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

September 15 2019 : 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Todayโ€™s Gospel in part reprises the parable of the Prodigal Son from the 4th Sunday of Lent, so the Psallite Song for the Table for today uses the same antiphon. This antiphon combines the Lordโ€™s invitation to us in Holy Communion with the fatherโ€™s words to his returning, repentant son. He offers us everything that he has: his own most precious Son.

The psalm verses selected for today (Psalm 32), pick up the theme of those who acknowledge their sins and whose offense is forgiven.
