Notre Dame Folk Choir Shares New Hymn in Response to Natural Disasters

The University of Notre Dame Folk Choir, under the direction of J.J. Wright and Karen Schneider Kirner, released a new hymn for praying the realities of recent natural disasters. The full score of “God Hushes Storms to Silence” by Karen Schneider Kirner and John T. Kyler is available for free download so that communities everywhere can use it in their prayer. The hymn, based on Psalm 107, can be sung in unison or with full SATB forces, and includes keyboard accompaniment and part for solo C instrument. You can download the score here.

The Notre Dame Folk Choir was founded by Steven C. Warner in 1980 and serves as one of the primary liturgical choirs for the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame.
