Will you be my VaLENTine?

We’ve all seen the diocesan responses to the Valentine’s day/ Ash Wednesday dilemma — celebrate on Shrove Tuesday, do penance on Ash Wednesday, they say. Brian Flanagan, Associate Professor of Theology at Marymount University, has a better both/and solution: Ash Wednesday-friendly printable VaLENTines, usable on Feb 14 itself!

.

That’s right. As Holy Mother Church has always taught… and as made explicit in the words themselves, Lent and VaLENTine’s day are in fact perfectly compatible!

Forget trying to pass off chocolate covered strawberries as your “small meal.” Fasting on VaLENTine’s Day is now sexy.
