OneLicense and LicenSing to Merge

The music licensing companies OneLicense.net and LicenSingOnline.org have signed a historic agreement to merge, which they say will herald “a new day for easy access to the music of the worldโ€™s top publishers of music for the church.” The merger takes effect January 1, 2017.

The new Company, jointly owned by GIA Publications, Inc. (GIA) and Oregon Catholic Press (OCP), will retain the ONE LICENSE name, Chicago offices, and OneLicense.net website URL. Participating publishers include OCP, GIA, Augsburg Fortress Publishers, Hope Publishing, Concordia, Church Publishing, Oxford University Press, International Liturgy Publications, and many more.

See the story here, with FAQ here.

For those curious about changes in cost, the FAQ says this:

The newย ONE LICENSE offers a new and improved online experience, a larger, more useful music catalog, improved license offerings, and easier song usage reporting. For these reasons, we do expect to increase the price of our license.
