The Benedict XVI Institute for Sacred Music and Divine Worship in San Francisco was founded about two years ago by Archbishop Cordileone to “reclaim the sense of the sacred.”
Its website says that the Institute
supports pastors in their efforts to form lay people for liturgical ministries, including music directors, parish musicians, acolytes, and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. The Institute will offer courses toward certification both online and at parishes. The Institute is based at Saint Patrick’s University and Seminary in Menlo Park, California in the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
With the departure of Fr. Samuel Weber, OSB, the Institute for Sacred Music and Divine Worship in San Francisco is accepting applications for a new executive director. The extensive job description for the position was posted in December.
I’ll say a prayer that the Institute find the right person, and that the Institute make a good contribution to the life of the church.
