This Friday: Last ever Mass for Blessed John XXIII

This Friday, October 11, 2013, will be the last ever optional memorial of Blessed John XXIII as, by God’s grace, he will be Saint John XXIII next year.

So this is your last chance to celebrate Mass according to the accompanying texts, including a proper preface.

    Though it would likely remain an optional memorial in the USA unless Francis decrees otherwise or the USCCB petitions him to elevate the commemoration in our calendar.

      @Karl Liam Saur – comment #1:

      I think you’ll find the “last ever” refers to the “Blessed” NOT the “optional memorial.”

    Thanks so much for posting this! May I ask what the source of the texts is? A year or so ago I had reason to look up the mass propers for Blessed John but couldn’t find anything in Notitiae, and after that, I had no idea where to go.
