Alleluia! – updated 4/17

See and hear the return of the Alleluia at the Easter vigilย at St. John’s Abbey here.ย And then the chanted Gospel.

Here is the response to the first reading, “Lord, send out your spirit,” refrain by Austrian Wolfgang Reisinger, verses set by some monk. And here, the communio, Pascha nostrum.

Pascha nostrum immolatus est Christus,
itaque epulemur
in azymis sinceritatis et veritatis.

Christ our Paschal Lamb is sacrificed,
therefore let us keep the feast
with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

And a schola anthem, a setting of a Kenyan folk song, “Wana Baraka.”

Full videos of the Triduum liturgies at the abbey are archived here.

Happy Easter season!
