German bishops resist missal revision

From today’s Tablet:

The German bishops are against making any fundamental changes to the present German Missal, which they say corresponds to the requirements of the 2001 Vatican instruction Liturgiam authenticam. The bishops discussed the new translation of the German Missal, which has just been sent to Rome for approval, at their autumn plenary last month. The president of the German bishopsโ€™ conference, Archbishop Robert Zollitsch, said the reception of the new Missal must not be jeopardized by replacing โ€œgood German textsโ€ with โ€œunfamiliar new interpretations.โ€
