Diederich, r.i.p."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reader Scott Pluff brought us news this morning of the death of Father Everett A. Diederich, S.J. He was\u00a0scholar in residence and chaplain to the staff of the Stroble Center for Liturgy in St. Louis. His obituary notes\u00a0his many contributions to\u00a0liturgical work in the United States, including the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A nationally known liturgist, Fr. Diederich taught many Jesuits how to put liturgical theory into practice in the celebration of the Eucharist and the other sacraments.<\/p>\n<p>During those years he also provided his expertise to the province, helping with summer seminars on the liturgical changes of Vatican II and arranging and overseeing ordination Masses.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The full text, with\u00a0information concerning\u00a0the funeral arrangements,\u00a0appears <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slu.edu\/x47514.xml\" target=\"_blank\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Father Everett A.
