Today the Vox Clara<\/em>\u00a0 commission announced the release of Roman Missal: A Study Text with Excerpts from the New English Translation<\/a><\/strong>, published by Midwest Theological Forum, Opus Dei’s publishing house in Chicago.<\/p>\n

It is fascinating to observe the ongoing evolution of ecclesial structures in all this. Vox Clara<\/em> is an advisory committee to the Holy See’s Congregation for Divine Worship in its approval of liturgical translations\u00a0submitted by national conferences of bishops. It is significant that this advisory body is now publicizing liturgical texts. It would be more conventional for such texts to be released by the International Commission on the Liturgy (ICEL), or by the national liturgy offices of bishops’ conferences. Does this portend a greater role for Vox Clara<\/em> in coordinating and supervising liturgical translation?<\/p>\n
