We are excited to share the news of an upcoming conference at the University of Notre Dame, titled “The Work of Human Hands: Liturgy and the Senses” (April 15-17, 2027) which will convene scholars from a wide variety of disciplines from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intentionally broad, the theme invites academics, specialists, and pastoral practitioners to an interdisciplinary and constructive conversation about the ways in which Christian and Jewish worship engage human sense preception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the full call for papers and more\u00a0information, please see the\u00a0conference site<\/a>. Those wishing to present are invited to submit\u00a0abstracts of no more than 300 words by August 1, 2026<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This conference is supported by the Theology Department (Liturgical Studies) at the University of Notre Dame, Sacred Music at Notre Dame, the Raclin-Murphy Museum of Art, the Notre Dame Arts Initiative, the Franco Family Institute for Liberal Arts and the Public Good, and the Global Catholic Research Initiative at Notre Dame. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This conference is a memorial tribute to Nathan P. Chase<\/a>\u00a0(1990-2025), who served Pray Tell <\/em>blog as editorial assistant, member of the editorial advisory committee, and finally as co-editor, until his death in 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
