Rev\u00edsese el rito y las f\u00f3rmulas de la penitencia de manera que expresen m\u00e1s claramente la naturaleza y efecto del sacramento.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Para la \u00e9poca del Concilio Vaticano II, los estudios hist\u00f3ricos hab\u00edan delineado las estructuras rituales, bastante diversas, mediante las cuales se celebraba en la Iglesia el perd\u00f3n de los pecados posterior al bautismo. Aunque el sacramento ordinario de la reconciliaci\u00f3n posterior al bautismo segu\u00eda siendo la Eucarist\u00eda, hab\u00eda surgido la necesidad de estructuras adicionales de reconciliaci\u00f3n para aquellos casos en que el pecado separaba a los pecadores de la comuni\u00f3n eucar\u00edstica. Las dos estructuras centrales que se desarrollaron fueron:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1) Un proceso p\u00fablico solemne, seguido de una reconciliaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica solemne (la llamada \u201cpenitencia can\u00f3nica\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2) Un di\u00e1logo privado entre un penitente y un confesor \u2014generalmente un presb\u00edtero\u2014 (la llamada \u201cpenitencia tarifada celta\u201d y las formas derivadas de ella).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuando en 1974 se promulg\u00f3 la\u00a0<em>editio typica<\/em>\u00a0del\u00a0<em>Ordo Penitentiae<\/em>\u00a0esta present\u00f3 tres estructuras rituales para la celebraci\u00f3n sacramental, as\u00ed como algunos modelos para servicios penitenciales no sacramentales: un rito de reconciliaci\u00f3n de penitentes individuales (Rito I); un rito de reconciliaci\u00f3n de varios penitentes con confesi\u00f3n y absoluci\u00f3n individuales (Rito II); y un rito de reconciliaci\u00f3n de varios penitentes con confesi\u00f3n y absoluci\u00f3n generales (Rito III).
