In this video, we anticipate this coming Sunday\u2019s Gospel reading \u2014 Christ\u2019s Transfiguration. Greene says: \u201cGod calls us to walk with Him in the wilderness. To be purged and pruned of ourselves. Our selfishness. Our Self-righteousness. And from that, to be transformed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"February 22, 2026\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WOWCl3Tikfw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/matthew\/17?1\">Matthew 17:1-9<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother,<br>and led them up a high mountain by themselves.<br>And he was transfigured before them;<br>his face shone like the sun<br>and his clothes became white as light.<br>And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them,<br>conversing with him.<br>Then Peter said to Jesus in reply,<br>\u201cLord, it is good that we are here.<br>If you wish, I will make three tents here,<br>one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.\u201d<br>While he was still speaking, behold,<br>a bright cloud cast a shadow over them,<br>then from the cloud came a voice that said,<br>\u201cThis is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased;<br>listen to him.\u201d<br>When the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate<br>and were very much afraid.<br>But Jesus came and touched them, saying,<br>\u201cRise, and do not be afraid.\u201d<br>And when the disciples raised their eyes,<br>they saw no one else but Jesus alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As they were coming down from the mountain,<br>Jesus charged them,<br>\u201cDo not tell the vision to anyone<br>until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Steve Greene<\/strong>\u00a0is the Pastor of Holy Trinity Anglican Church (Lucan) and St. James Chapel of Ease (Clandeboye), both in Ontario, Canada<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PASTOR STEVE GREENE \u2014 \u201cGod calls us to walk with Him in the wilderness to be purged and pruned of ourselves.
