Por favor desliza hacia abajo para leer este art\u00edculo en espa\u00f1ol.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome to 100 years of liturgical renewal in the United States!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">100 years ago, this April, Saint John\u2019s Abbey <a href=\"https:\/\/litpress.org\/\">launched the Liturgical Press<\/a>.&nbsp; Or, perhaps more accurately, we might say that Dom Virgil Michel convinced his Abbot Alcuin Deutsch to do something utterly <em>crazy <\/em>and launch a printing press and liturgical apostolate in the middle of Minnesotan mission territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Press launched in April\u2014in a room in the basement\u2014and, a few months later, the journal first named <em>Orate Fratres<\/em> would appear.&nbsp; These print publications\u2014which featured resources for the lay faithful (and their clergy) to come to understand and participate in liturgical worship\u2014provided the first stream of regularly appearing English-language resources promoting and feeding liturgical renewal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this we are grateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Pray Tell <\/em>blog stands in this tradition: also founded out of Saint John\u2019s Abbey, also promoting liturgical renewal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Up to now, almost all of <em>Pray Tell<\/em>\u2019s content has been in English.&nbsp; It has not yet followed the pastoral response of Liturgical Press, which features a wide array of content in <a href=\"https:\/\/litpress.org\/Category\/SP\/Spanish\">Spanish-language resources<\/a>, showing awareness of the reality of the Church in the United States!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To honor our 100<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of liturgical renewal cultivated on these fields (now frozen) in central Minnesota, we are pleased to share something new\u2014and something worth re-reading:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beginning in September 2012, Fr. Michael Joncas began <a href=\"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/category\/re-reading-sacrosanctum-concilium\/page\/12\/\">a series of reflections on <em>Sacrosanctum Concilium<\/em><\/a>.&nbsp; The 100<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of liturgical renewal in the United States (taking LitPress\u2019s founding as a starting point for all you purists out there) seems an excellent opportunity to both revisit this thoughtful series, but to share it for the first time in Spanish translation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beginning this Sunday, join Fr. Joncas and <em>Pray Tell <\/em>on a year-long journey through <em>Sacrosanctum Concilium <\/em>in the language of your choice!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I agree with Pope Leo XIV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaticannews.va\/en\/pope\/news\/2026-01\/pope-at-audience-7-january-2026.html\">who has invited all the faithful to a close encounter with Vatican II&#8217;s documents<\/a>: we can never read <em>SC<\/em> enough.&nbsp; I see something new every time I read it.&nbsp; So join us, and the worldwide church\u2014as we consider something old, and see something new\u2014in our <em>ora et labora<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Celebrando 100 a\u00f1os de Ora y Trabaja<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a1Bienvenidos a 100 a\u00f1os de renovaci\u00f3n lit\u00fargica en los Estados Unidos!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El pr\u00f3ximo mes de abril se van a conmemorar 100 a\u00f1os desde que la Abad\u00eda de San Juan (Collegeville, Minnesota) fund\u00f3\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/litpress.org\/\">Liturgical Press<\/a>. O, quiz\u00e1s con mayor precisi\u00f3n, podr\u00edamos decir que Dom Virgil Michel convenci\u00f3 a su abad, Alcuin Deutsch, de hacer algo completamente\u00a0<em>descabellado<\/em>: fundar una imprenta y un apostolado lit\u00fargico en medio del territorio de misi\u00f3n de Minnesota. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La imprenta se inaugur\u00f3 en abril \u2014en una habitaci\u00f3n del s\u00f3tano\u2014 y, unos meses despu\u00e9s, se public\u00f3 la revista que inicialmente se llam\u00f3\u00a0<em>Orate Fratre<\/em>.
