During this period, churches and faith communities come together in prayer, reflection, and action to care for our shared home. Rooted in Scripture and Christian tradition, this season emphasizes God\u2019s call to live in harmony with creation, each other, and the Creator with the theme &#8220;Peace with Creation&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2025 Celebration guide can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/seasonofcreation.org\/resources\/\">here<\/a>. Here are a few items of note!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/hht4vnIOsP4\">The Global Ecumenical Prayer Service<\/a><\/strong> is on September 1 at 9:00 am ET (8:00 am CT\/6:00 am PT), you can find the livestream on the Season of Creation&#8217;s YouTube channel <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/hht4vnIOsP4\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.creationjustice.org\/seasonofcreation.html\">Creation Justice Ministries<\/a><\/strong> will host a series of Public Witness Events in various states ( and D.C) highlighting urgent environmental concerns through ritual, testimony, and prayer. Each gathering will feature a diverse panel of speakers, including faith leaders, theologians, community members, and public officials who will all address the sacred duty to protect Creation. &nbsp;The events are the following dates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Washington, D.C. \u2014 September 2nd<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Phoenix, Arizona <strong>\u2014 <\/strong> Sept 9<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Atlanta, Georgia <strong>\u2014 <\/strong>Sept 15<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grand Rapids, Michigan<strong>\u2014 <\/strong>Sept 15<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Washington, D.C.<strong>\u2014 <\/strong> September 29<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acen.anglicancommunion.org\/\">The Anglican Communion Environmental Network<\/a>(ACEN) <\/strong>invites Anglicans worldwide to participate in the Season of Creation. The ACEN will offer a variety of resources to support prayer and worship during the Season of Creation. From <strong>September 8 to 12<\/strong>, ACEN, in collaboration with the World Council of Churches, will lead daily Morning Prayer sessions at <strong>8:30 CET<\/strong>. These services will feature homilies from various Anglican leaders and provide an opportunity for communal prayer and reflection on the theme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>September 8<\/strong> \u2013 The Most Revd Julio Murray, Bishop of Panama<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September 9<\/strong> \u2013 Representatives from Green Anglicans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September 10<\/strong> \u2013 Representatives from the Church of South India (United)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September 11<\/strong> \u2013 Representatives from the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and Polynesia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September 12<\/strong> \u2013 Representatives from the Diocese in Europe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;The ACEN has additionally developed <a href=\"https:\/\/acen.anglicancommunion.org\/resources\/liturgical-resources.aspx?\">liturgical materials<\/a> for the Season of Creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Roman Catholic Church<\/strong> will also observe the Season of Creation 2025.Pope Leo XIV has designated September 1 as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. This day emphasizes the urgent need for environmental stewardship and calls for prayer, reflection, and concrete actions to transform our world into \u201ca garden, a place of rest and serenity.\u201d To support this initiative, the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/leo-xiv\/en\/homilies\/2025\/documents\/20250709-omelia-custodia-creazione.html\">Missa pro custodia creationis<\/a><\/em> (Mass for the Care of Creation) was introduced in July 2025, providing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/dam\/romancuria\/culto-divino\/Missa%20pro%20custodia%20creationis%20-%20Exemplar%20originale.pdf\">liturgical resources<\/a> for Catholics to pray for the protection of creation and to live in harmony with nature. Around the world, dioceses and parishes are encouraged to engage in prayer services, educational events, community clean-ups, and advocacy for environmental justice, all grounded in faith and the reflection on humanity\u2019s responsibility toward God\u2019s creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NYC and D.C<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the Season of Creation, the <a href=\"https:\/\/archny.org\/care-of-creation\/\">Archdiocese of New York<\/a> is providing various opportunities for prayer, reflection, and community engagement. On <strong>Saturday, September 6, 2025<\/strong>, the Pilgrimage of Hope for Creation will take place along the Hudson River and the Palisades. This event will feature rituals, worship, and fellowship. Later in the month, on <strong>Sunday, September 28, 2025<\/strong>, the Hudson Valley Pilgrimage during the Season of Creation will be held at the Mariandale Center in Ossining. This four-mile guided hike, will include theological reflections, meditative stops, and time for shared snacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> In addition to these special events, <a href=\"https:\/\/archny.org\/our-parishes\/\">local parishes<\/a> are encouraged to host creation-focused worship and community activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement<\/strong> will host an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atonementfriars.org\/event\/season-of-creation-interfaith-gathering\/\">Interfaith Gathering<\/a> on <strong>Wednesday, October 1, 2025<\/strong>, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the Interchurch Center Chapel (61 Claremont Ave, NYC). This event is a collaborative effort hosted by the Graymoor Ecumenical &amp; Interreligious Institute, the Interfaith Center of New York, and other partners. It aims to bring together diverse religious communities to reflect on and reaffirm their commitment to the integrity of creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Episcopal Diocese of Washington<\/strong> will also join global ecumenical efforts to launch the Feast of Creation. To support this observance, new liturgical materials\u2014available <a href=\"https:\/\/newcreationliturgies.org\/\">here <\/a>\u2014offer fresh prayers, music, and resources for celebrating creation in worship. <a href=\"https:\/\/edow.org\/find-a-church\/\">Parishes<\/a> are invited to take part through book studies, guest speakers, sustainable meals, and prayerful nature walks, as well as environmental stewardship campaigns like cleanups or advocacy efforts. The diocesan Creation Care Team is offering coaching and guidance to help congregations plan meaningful ways to honor this season and live more faithfully into their call to care for creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Church of the Epiphany<\/strong> will host a Season of Creation Benefit Organ Concert featuring Eric Plutz on<strong> Sunday, September 14, 2025<\/strong>, at 4:00 PM. The concert aims to raise funds for creation care initiatives and will be followed by a reception.
