{"id":64858,"date":"2024-09-05T09:27:47","date_gmt":"2024-09-05T14:27:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/?p=64858"},"modified":"2024-09-05T13:00:08","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T18:00:08","slug":"a-liturgical-opportunity-an-ecumenical-kairos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/2024\/09\/05\/a-liturgical-opportunity-an-ecumenical-kairos\/","title":{"rendered":"A Liturgical Opportunity; An Ecumenical Kairos"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are pleased to invite you to the seminar <em>\u201cThe Feast of the Mystery of Creation: A Deeper Catholic Exploration,\u201d<\/em> to take place in Assisi on 5-8 December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will explore the observance of September 1 as the celebration of God\u2019s creation of the world \u2013 known as \u201cCreation Day,\u201d \u201cFeast of Creation,\u201d or \u201cWorld Day of Prayer for Creation\u201d \u2013 inspired by an ancient tradition of the Eastern church. In light of an <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/10rBHfy0GlJwvcyqxoS8kLmFhpqzyoQyW\/view\">ecumenical process<\/a> currently underway, through which Protestant churches \u2013 with whom Catholics share a common Western calendar and lectionary \u2013 have con\ufb01rmed their intention to elevate the day to become a liturgical feast in their calendars, the seminar will deepen the exploration of the proposed feast from a Catholic perspective. Namely, it will be a \u201ctheological, historical, and pastoral\u201d investigation to understand if \u201clegitimate progress\u201d (<em>Sacrosanctum Concilium <\/em>23) is desirable for this day to become a new feast also in the Roman Catholic calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We would be delighted if you could join this important dialogue to assist the Church in discerning its participation in the ecumenical process. The event will consist of two full days of academic seminar (6-7 December), plus an optional welcome program the afternoon of 5 December and departures on 8 December.
