{"id":64152,"date":"2024-05-11T15:03:52","date_gmt":"2024-05-11T20:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/?p=64152"},"modified":"2024-05-13T07:56:21","modified_gmt":"2024-05-13T12:56:21","slug":"preach-the-word","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/2024\/05\/11\/preach-the-word\/","title":{"rendered":"Preach the Word"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m delighted to share that the proceeds of the 2022 Notre Dame preaching conference are now published as a book by Liturgy Training Publications, <em>Preaching in the Light of the Word: Enlivening the Scriptural Imagination. <\/em>Edited by Father Mike Connors, CSC, who organized the conference and was head of the preaching program at Notre Dame for many years, this volume contains a rich array of articles, including my own: &#8220;Receiving the Sunday of the Word of God&#8221; (chapter 4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The volume is dedicated to Fr. Don Senior, CP, one of the keynote speakers, who passed away only a few months after this event. He was an inspiration to countless students of the Sacred Scriptures through his scholarship, and all who knew him praised his many contributions to the life of the Church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Altogether, a great number of illustrious scholars and some rising stars have contributed to the book. Even though I participated in the conference, I wasn&#8217;t able to attend every session, so I am looking forward to visiting (and revisiting) these talks now in print. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Look for Tom Long on the parables, Mike Joncas on music, Ann Garrido on Ignatian approaches to homily preparation, Layla Karst on lay preaching, and more.
