It is published by the<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"> <\/mark><a href=\"https:\/\/saint-luke.net\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Order of Saint Luke<\/mark><\/a>, a dispersed ecumenical religious order founded by Methodists. The Order currently includes United Methodists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Baptists, members of Holiness movement churches, and many others. <em>Doxology<\/em> publishes work by established and emerging liturgical scholars to address historical, theological, and cultural questions about Christian worship and the sacramental life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ARTICLES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Baptism Tai Chi<\/strong><br><em>Sarah Mount Elewononi, OSL<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe one who sings prays twice.\u201d Even though the attribution to Augustine is dubious, the oft quoted saying resonates with my experience of music\u2019s ability to let me experience God\u2019s real presence in worship. In this article, I propose a corollary; <em>when one moves one\u2019s body symbolically in union with spiritual song, their prayer is magnified threefold<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Throwback Theology: The Apostolic Tradition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Apostolic Tradition, or the<em> Traditio Apostolica<\/em>, was once believed to have been written by a certain Hippolytus of Rome, but is now thought by many to be a composite work, representing the work of multiple authors and communities. It is an ancient Christian text that offers insight into some early liturgical practices and provides instruction to early Christians. Although the exact date of the composition of the text is unclear, many believe significant portions of it were composed during the second and third centuries AD. This particular excerpt focuses on the practice of prayer. It emphasizes that prayer is an essential spiritual discipline for strengthening one\u2019s faith, resisting temptation, and drawing closer to Christ.
