The antiphon is taken directly from the 2nd Reading.<\/span><\/p>\n

James 5:7<\/span><\/p>\n

Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord.<\/p>\n

and James 5:8<\/span><\/p>\n

You too must be patient. Make your hearts firm,
\nbecause the coming of the Lord is at hand.<\/p>\n

Psalm verses from Ps 85 and large extracts from Isaiah 35 complete the picture, with the verse tone superimposed on the antiphon.<\/span><\/p>\n

It would also be possible today to use the <\/span>Psallite<\/span><\/i> setting for the 3rd Sunday of Advent, Years B and C, which corresponds exactly with the Communion antiphon and canticle (from Isaiah 35, the same text appearing in today\u2019s 1st Reading) in all the sources:<\/span><\/p>\n
