The antiphon comes directly from today\u2019s Gospel, the story of Zacchaeus up the sycamore tree, with its final acclamation (Luke 19:9) from Jesus\u2019 own lips:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday salvation has come to this house!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

We also rejoice that the saving Bread of the Eucharist is our food in this house today.<\/span><\/p>\n

The psalm verses (Psalm 16:1-2. 5-11) continue the theme of thanksgiving to God, taking their cue from the Communion antiphon (Ps 16:10) in the Roman Missal and Graduale:<\/span><\/p>\n

You will show me the path of life,
\nthe fullness of joy in your presence, O Lord.<\/p>\n
