October 23, 2022 : 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time<\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s antiphon combines the striking image of prayer piercing the clouds from Sirach 35:21 in the 1st Reading with the cry of the tax collector \u2014 \u201cO God, be merciful to me, sinner\u201d \u2014 from Luke 18:13 in the Gospel. The love God shows us indeed fulfils the prayer of our hearts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The psalm verses provided, extracted from Psalms 141 and 143, continue the theme of those who lift up their eyes to the Lord and call upon him.<\/span><\/p>\n

The antiphon may be sung as a round in two or four parts, as indicated. The four-part round in particular will convey something of our prayer to the Lord swirling up through the clouds.<\/span><\/p>\n
