The Collegeville Composers Group were influenced by the wording of the Communion antiphon from the Roman Missal and Gradual as presented in the ICEL 1998 <\/span>Antiphonal<\/span><\/i>:<\/span><\/p>\n

If I must drink this cup
\nand it may not pass by,
\nFather, your will be done.<\/p>\n

This classic text from the narrative of the Agony in the Garden is coupled with verses from Ps 116, as suggested in the Roman Gradual, Missal and the 1998 <\/span>Antiphonal<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This antiphon and psalm offer people the opportunity to surrender themselves in Holy Communion with the words and in the way Jesus surrendered himself to his Father.<\/span><\/p>\n
