\n<\/em>The two basic coordinates of existence: time and space, naturally come into play in the liturgical celebration as part of the sacramental language of the worship that the priestly people offer to God and the sanctification that He himself performs of humanity in the same celebrations. This research tries to answer whether the virtual\u00a0hic et nunc<\/i> resulting from the pandemic, typical of the applications provided over the Internet, are adequate and sufficient for the mistagogic performativity of the liturgy.<\/p>\n

A first part of this research on the\u00a0hic<\/i>\u00a0of liturgical celebrations has recently been published by\u00a0Ecclesia orans<\/i>,\u00a0<\/i>now, with this article as a second part, some reflections about the celebratory\u00a0nunc<\/i>\u00a0in virtuality are offered.<\/p>\n

Ecclesiastical History and Mystical Contemplation<\/em> of Germanus I (ed. Migne): <\/strong>An attempt to evaluate and establish a precise chronology
\n<\/strong>Georgios A. Keselopoulos<\/em>
\n<\/em><\/strong>This paper attempts to evaluate and establish a precise chronology for the text of the\u00a0Ecclesiastical History and Mystical Contemplation\u00a0<\/i>[CPG<\/i>\u00a08023] of Germanus I, Patriarch of Constantinople, as given in Migne\u2019s\u00a0Patrologia Graeca<\/i>, on the basis of the references to the Prothesis rite within this text. Using the comparative liturgy method, Migne\u2019s text is compared with earlier versions of the same text and other liturgical commentaries. It is established that this text is a composite text and probably describes liturgical practice relating to the Prothesis in the half of the 12th<\/sup>\u00a0century.<\/p>\n

The Tridentine Genius of\u00a0Traditionis Custodes
\n<\/em><\/strong>Alexander Turpin<\/em>
\nWith his recent decree\u00a0Traditionis Custodis<\/i>\u00a0(2021), Pope Francis abrogated broad permission for the use of the\u00a0Missale Romanum<\/i>\u00a0of 1962. There have been many objections, but there is a basic difference between criticisms of a liturgical reform and the theological and juridical principles by which such a reform is carried out. This essay is a survey of the role of authority and theology in the Roman liturgy\u2019s history. Since the Council of Trent (1545-1563), the Roman pontiffs have assumed a unilateral and universal authority to alter, redact, abolish, and impose liturgical books for the Roman rite. Additionally, Rome\u2019s liturgical magisterium since Trent \u2013 except for Benedict XVI\u2019s\u00a0Summorum Pontificum<\/i>\u00a0(2007) \u2013 has insisted upon unifying the Latin church by means of just one version of\u00a0Missale Romanum<\/i>\u00a0at a given moment. I argue that\u00a0Summorum Pontificum<\/i>\u00a0deviates from the tradition and thus\u00a0Traditionis Custodes\u00a0<\/i>was inevitable all along.<\/p>\n
