\"\"<\/p>\n

In today\u2019s scriptures the word \u201cSpirit\u201d appears a number of times. The psalm response is \u201cYour words, Lord, are Spirit and life.\u201d In the Gospel of Jesus unrolling the scroll of Isaiah in the synagogue, he proclaims the words \u201cThe Spirit of the Lord is upon me\u201d and applies them to himself. The 2nd reading from1 Corinthians tells us:<\/span><\/p>\n

In one Spirit we were all baptized into one body,
\n…
\nand we were all given to drink of one Spirit.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on this, on Jesus\u2019s words \u201cToday this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing\u201d, and remembering that the <\/span>Psallite<\/span><\/i> composers\u2019 concept of \u201cGospel Communion\u201d is one in which what we receive in the Word is fulfilled by what we receive in Communion, and you arrive at the text of today\u2019s Communion Antiphon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The antiphon is coupled with verses from Psalm 33, and additionally has been written so that it could, perhaps at the end of Communion, be sung several times over as a simple four-part round, emphasizing are unity as one body.<\/span><\/p>\n
