Once again, none of the antiphons in the Roman Missal seemed to connect with today\u2019s readings. However, the Gradual Romanum<\/em> has this from Matthew 16:24:<\/p>\n

Whoever wishes to come after me,
\nlet him deny himself
\nand take up his cross and follow me,
\nsays the Lord.<\/p>\n

Psalm verses are from Ps 116:10-19: \u201cI trusted, even when I said \u2026. Mo vows to the Lord I will fulfil\u2026. O precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his faithful\u2026.\u201d We symbolize dying to self and following the Lord when we solemnly process to receive him in Communion.<\/p>\n
