March 7, 2021: Third Sunday of Lent (Year B)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Neither of the antiphons suggested by the Missal for this Sunday coincides completely with the scriptures of Year B. However, the final lines of Passer invenit<\/em>, the antiphon traditionally assigned to this Sunday in the preconciliar Missal, make use of Psalm 84:5:<\/p>\n

Blessed are those who dwell in your house!
\nThey never cease to praise you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

with its resonances of Psalm 69:9:<\/p>\n

Zeal for your house will consume me<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

quoted in today\u2019s Gospel.<\/p>\n

The Collegeville Composers provided an antiphon which adds the implication that in the reception of Holy Communion we become more clearly a house wherein God dwells.<\/p>\n

Psalm verses are taken from almost the whole of Psalm 84.<\/p>\n
