Option I<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Collegeville Composers reused an antiphon from the 4th Sunday of Lent, Year C, and the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time from the same year. It relates well to today\u2019s First Reading and Gospel, especially these lines:<\/p>\n

Only listen to me, and you shall eat well,
\nyou shall delight in rich fare.
\nPay attention and come to me;
\nlisten, that you may have life.
\nI will make with you an everlasting covenant,
\nthe steadfast loyalty promised to David. \u00a0(Isaiah 55:2-3)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

as well as to the response to today\u2019s Responsorial Psalm:<\/p>\n

The hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs. (Ps 145: cf. v. 16)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Following the suggestion in the 1974 Graduale<\/em>, 1998 Antiphonal<\/em>, and 2012 Antiphonary<\/em>, the psalm verses are taken from Ps 78.<\/p>\n

Option II<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Option II reuses the antiphon from the same Sunday in Cycle B. It relates well to Isaiah 55:1-3, the First Reading, and to the Gospel of the Feeding of the Five Thousand.<\/p>\n

Following the Antiphonal<\/em> and Antiphonary<\/em> verses are provided from Wisdom 16. The Collegeville Composers prefaced these with verses from Psalm 36(35), since the final phrase of the antiphon is taken directly from the psalm:<\/p>\n

They feast on the riches of your house;
\nthey drink from the stream of your delight. (Ps 36:9)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
