If anything, it is even more appropriate for this day, quoting directly from the Gospel, Matthew 5:14 and 16, and alluding strongly to the 1st Reading from Isaiah 58, the psalm response (112:4a) and the Gospel Acclamation (John 8:12).<\/p>\n<p>The chosen accompanying psalm\/canticle verses today utilize extracts from that 1st Reading and Gospel, together with parts of Psalm 27 as on the 3rd Sunday.
