Pray Tell<\/em> has obtained the report prepared for bishops\u2019 Conferences to make them aware of the problems in the 2010 Received Text<\/a>. (Who leaked it to us, you want to know? All we\u2019ll say is, it\u2019s either someone from the U.S. or from abroad.) The Received Text is the final version of the English missal approved by the CDW and presented to Pope Benedict on April 28, 2010, with a festive luncheon<\/a> for the Vox Clara<\/em> commission, officials of the CDW, and the Pope.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Report goes on for dozens of pages. Thirteen chapters with titles like \u201cChange of Meaning from the Latin Original\u201d and \u201cMistranslation of the Latin\u201d and \u201cAdditions of an Element Not Found in Latin\u201d and \u201cOmission of an Element Found in the Latin\u201d and \u201cIntroduction of a Theological Problem\u201d and \u201cDifficulty with English Grammar or Usage.\u201d The chapters have subheadings, and under the subheadings are lists documenting each instance of the problem.<\/p>\n
