{"id":4922,"date":"2010-10-27T10:56:04","date_gmt":"2010-10-27T15:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/?p=4922"},"modified":"2010-10-27T11:02:57","modified_gmt":"2010-10-27T16:02:57","slug":"nova-vulgata-and-new-grail-wonkish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/2010\/10\/27\/nova-vulgata-and-new-grail-wonkish\/","title":{"rendered":"Nova Vulgata and New Grail (wonkish)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A regular <em>Pray Tell<\/em> reader was concerned about <a href=\"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/2010\/10\/22\/this-leak-can-no-longer-be-stopped\/\" target=\"_blank\">this comment<\/a>\u00a0by &#8220;anonymous&#8221; which we excerpted from <a href=\"http:\/\/gottasinggottapray.blogspot.com\/2010\/10\/disconcerting-monday.html\" target=\"_blank\">GSGP<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Musicians should be particularly concerned, it seems to me, by the fact that the antiphons have come back in the form documented in section 2 of the Leaked Texts part of Rindfleisch\u2019s article. What a shame that the seasonal appropriateness of some of those antiphons will be lost by 2010\u2019s decision, contrary to LA, to nix the Vulgate base and go with the New Grail.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0She writes:<\/p>\n<p><strong>What makes this person think that a new translation of the psalms&#8211;done according to the norms of LA&#8211;would be done <em>without<\/em> consideration of the Nova Vulgata? That&#8217;s quite an insinuation, it seems to me. And, <em>if<\/em> the Revised Grail Psalms are the preferred version for use at liturgy, then why <em>not<\/em> use them for those antiphons that are from psalms?
