In my posts on\nthe introit antiphons I have often dealt with melodic directions. It is a bit\nof a surprise that the melody of the word clamavi<\/em>\n(\u201cI cry (or: have cried) to you\u201d) does not express someone who cries to heaven\nbut rather someone who desperately sinks into the dust, weak and powerless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The climax of\nthis introit is copiosus<\/em> in the third\nline: When the psalmist remembers God\u2019s abundance, he or she regains all power.\nBeing faithful when we are healthy and happy is easy, but true faith shines into\nthe darkness of our hearts and souls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
