Safe your servant, my God, who hopes in you.\nHave mercy on me, Lord, for I cry to you all day long.\u201d (Ps 86(85):1\u20133)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This introit\nstarts with a typical opening of the first Gregorian mode, with all the debates\nwhether there is a b <em>(si bemolle)<\/em> or\nh <em>(si naturale)<\/em> to be sung. The\neditors of the <em>Graduale Novum<\/em> left\nthis question open in this case, as the medieval sources are not unequivocal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What I like\nabout this introit are all the moves up and down. There is someone praying\ndesperately, doubting, hoping, crying, shouting, humiliating himself or\nherself, confessing, trusting, believing.
