The one whom you saw\nraising to the sky (heaven), will come (return) in the same way, hallelujah,\nhallelujah, hallelujah.\u201d (Acts 1:11)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/viri-galilaei.mp4\">Click here to listen to an audio of the chant.<\/a><br><em>Sung by Liborius Lumma, Innsbruck (Austria).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ascension of\nthe Lord is somehow \u2013 like Pentecost \u2013 the fulfillment of his vocation for us.\nThe heaven is open, there is a promise for our lives that shall never be taken\nback again.\n\nThe text of this chant is\nnot directed to God, it is a narrative from the Acts of the Apostles,\neventually directed to us. The message is said, now let us do what has to be\ndone: live our lives and trust in life. The triple <em>alleluia<\/em> at the end of the chant is one of the most opulent and\nbeautiful in Gregorian Chant, and it is no accident that we find it on this\nvery day. We celebrated Easter for 40 days, like Israel\u2019s pilgrimage for 40\nyears.
