Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Lord,
\nthings change again.
\nWhen will I be able to rest
\nin the comfort of knowing what comes next?<\/p>\n
You, who transcend all time,
\nwho created the stars and set them in place,
\nyou, who are ageless yet known in every age,
\ngrant me the grace to accept
\nthe changes that are happening.<\/p>\n
Empty my heart of anxiety,
\nand fill it instead with wonder and awe.
\nRelease me from the chains of complacency,
\nand bind me to your ever-moving Spirit.<\/p>\n
When the things I believed to be permanent and stable
\nare left by the way side,
\nenfold me in your undying love
\nthat I may remember in whom all things are bound.<\/p>\n
When fear of something new paralyzes me,
\nand grief cripples me with anger
\nover the loss of what had been,
\nsend your angels to give me a gentle push
\nover that frightening edge into the unknown,
\nso that I may learn to trust in you.<\/p>\n
For you alone are eternal.
\nYou alone are enduring.
\nYou alone are the everlasting Lord.
\nAnd in you alone will this restless world find peace.
