The annual convention theme was &#8220;Justice and Mercy,&#8221; while a couple of the sessions addressed topics in sacramental and liturgical theology.\u00a0<em>Proceedings<\/em> includes two-page summaries of the sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The regular <a href=\"http:\/\/ejournals.bc.edu\/ojs\/index.php\/ctsa\/article\/view\/9408\/8425\" target=\"_blank\">Liturgy\/Sacraments<\/a>\u00a0Topic Session, convened by Judith Kubicki, entailed <a href=\"http:\/\/ejournals.bc.edu\/ojs\/index.php\/ctsa\/article\/view\/9408\/8425\" target=\"_blank\">three papers<\/a> related to the convention&#8217;s 2016 theme:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rhodora Beaton, &#8220;Mercy Revealed: The Dignity of the Marginalized Made Manifest in the Liturgy&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Jonathan Stotts &#8220;Calling Down God&#8217;s Mercy on the Body: Revisiting the Third Rite of Penance&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Susan Ross, &#8220;Challenging and Rethinking Justice, Mercy, and Gender&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The convention&#8217;s seven Selected Sessions included <a href=\"http:\/\/ejournals.bc.edu\/ojs\/index.php\/ctsa\/article\/view\/9392\/8409\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Sacramental-Prophetic Vision: Exploiting Insights from Bernard Cooke&#8217;s\u00a0<\/a><em><a href=\"http:\/\/ejournals.bc.edu\/ojs\/index.php\/ctsa\/article\/view\/9392\/8409\" target=\"_blank\">Essential Writings.&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>My convener&#8217;s report summarizes the contributions of Daniel Horan, OFM, Elizabeth Johnson, CSJ, Kimberly Hope Belcher, and Richard Lennan.<\/p>\n<p>Word-count limits set for the reports prohibited recounting the contours of the rich, open discussions each of those sessions generated.
