{"id":33026,"date":"2016-05-22T07:36:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-22T12:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/?p=33026"},"modified":"2016-05-22T11:14:08","modified_gmt":"2016-05-22T16:14:08","slug":"john-allen-the-liturgy-wars-have-gone-quite-but-have-not-gone-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/2016\/05\/22\/john-allen-the-liturgy-wars-have-gone-quite-but-have-not-gone-away\/","title":{"rendered":"John Allen: the liturgy wars have gone quiet, but have not gone away."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I hope I&#8217;m\u00a0not just stirring the pot and providing an occasion for combatants on both sides to take swipes at each other, but here is John Allen&#8217;s take on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cruxnow.com\/church\/2016\/05\/21\/liturgy-wars-have-gone-quiet-but-theyve-hardly-gone-away\/\">the current mood with regard to the Missal translation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I believe that all of the people he quotes are being honest in their assessment, which just makes me shake my head at how differently they perceive things.<\/p>\n<p>My own take, based largely on my own parish, is that if you asked people they would say they liked the old translation better, but that now that they are used to it the new translation is only\u00a0a minor irritant.
