{"id":30491,"date":"2015-06-22T19:18:06","date_gmt":"2015-06-23T00:18:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/?p=30491"},"modified":"2019-12-10T10:41:04","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T16:41:04","slug":"30491","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/praytellblog.com\/index.php\/2015\/06\/22\/30491\/","title":{"rendered":"Ecumenical Study: Daily Office of French Anglicans and Catholics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <em>Pray Tell<\/em> reader writes in, &#8220;I think this is a significant development, and a good example of receptive ecumenism.&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The members of the Anglican-Roman Catholic Committee of France (French ARC) presented the fruit of their work of the past five years last Wednesday 17 June, when they launched their study of the Daily Office, or Liturgy of the Hours, of the Anglican and Roman Catholic Churches.<\/p>\n<p>The document, available in both French and English, is entitled \u201cO Lord, open our lips\u201d or \u201c<i>Seigneur, ouvre nos l\u00e8vres<\/i>\u201d. It points out the convergence between the Anglican and Roman Catholic liturgies for the daily office, and promotes common prayer between communities of both traditions. (There are over 80 Anglican congregations in France, served by about 35 priests. Many of these congregations use Roman Catholic buildings for their services).
