This summer I started with Zygmunt Baumann\u2019s piece on postmodernity entitled \u201cLiquid Modernity.\u201d Then I read Wm. Young\u2019s \u201cThe Shack\u201d which friends had been urging for a long time. I can see why. It\u2019s a fascinating take on the Trinity and theodicy. I\u2019ve also read Bill Barry\u2019s \u201cA Friendship Like No Other\u201d and Jim Martin\u2019s \u201cJesuit Guide to Almost<\/em> Everything.\u201d Both are wonderful spiritual guides. For \u2018fun\u2019 I\u2019m reading Tony Judt\u2019s \u201cPostwar\u201d and Joanthan Kellerman\u2019s \u201cBones.\u201d Later I will turn to Richard Pfaff\u2019s \u201cLiturgy of Medieval England\u201d mainly because I am teaching Medieval Liturgy in the Fall semester \u2013 and I\u2019m sure there will be many more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
