The conference is intended for the parish choirmaster, with an invitation to c<span style=\"color: #000000;\">ome and experience chant as\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cfull, conscious, and active participation\u201d in the sacred liturgy, and learn how to integrate it into your parish\u2019s liturgical life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Topics to include&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What Chant to Sing:<\/span><\/strong> Sessions taught by Fr. Columba Kelly, OSB, Ph.D., world-renowned scholar of Gregorian chant and composer and teacher of chant principles, and English Liturgical Chant repertoire. Member of the NPM Chant section committee. Sessions will include instruction on reading neumes (chant notation) and praying the text of the liturgy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How to Direct Chant:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Sessions taught by Ray Henderson,Director of liturgical music and\u00a0organist, Our Lady of Hope Parish, Carle Place, New York.
