I only know what Vatican Information Service tells us<\/a>: Pope Francis has appointed Fr. Corrado Maggioni, S.M.M., as undersecretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.<\/p>\n

As Pray Tell <\/em>reported about a year ago<\/a>, Fr. Maggioni was among those named to the Office of Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff\u00a0in a major shake-up on that front.<\/p>\n

Many have been curious about what is happening at the CDW (or CDWDS), which has strangely been without a prefect ever since Cardinal Canizares was moved out<\/a>. Archbishop Arthur Roche has remained secretary, and Fr. Anthony Ward undersecretary. There is no mention of a change in Anthony Ward\u2019s position in conjunction with today\u2019s announcement.<\/p>\n

Are curial reconfigurations in the works? Is that why no prefect has been named yet? Or is there another reason?<\/p>\n

UPDATE: <\/strong>Pray Tell<\/em> has learned that Anthony Ward’s term of service at the CDW is ending with this new appointment.<\/p>\n
